African pear oil is also known as Safou oil from safou fruit specific to Africa. It contains A, B1, B3, D and C vitamins. The fruit also contains a high oil content and a significant level of essential amino acids such as threonine, lysine, and leucine, which help the body perform all necessary functions including tissue repair, transporting nutrients, and digestion. Among the benefits of Safou fruit, the most noticeable detail is that 47% of the fruit is fat. When the fruit is cooked it takes the consistency of butter and is very nutritious.
